Weight loss isn't just a spur-of-the-moment sort of activity. For those who desperately want to lose weight - in order to look better, feel happier, and live a healthier life - weight loss must be carefully planned in myriad ways. Meals must be determined in advance, grocery trips must become about reading labels, and exercise must become a priority. It can become overwhelming and time-consuming to try to lose weight. It can be an emotional, physical, and financial struggle. And for those who are following Weight Watchers - who follow the carefully-planned Points system in order to maximize weight loss potential - the road to weight loss can be even more complicated.
But that is why this group exists. We are here to support each other in our goals of losing weight, exercising, and living a healthier life. We follow the Weight Watchers Points system, choosing to use either the Core or Flex plan, and look for results on a weekly basis.
Some of us are fortunate enough to get together in person in Carroll County, Maryland for a weekly weigh in, and to discuss the benefits of losing weight, our emotional concerns about weight loss, and our ultimate goals for a healthier lifestyle. But for those who want to lose weight but do not live in Carroll County, this group should hopefully be able to help and support you as well.
As an introduction, each new member should post: Name (or username, if that makes you more comfortable) Age General location (Maryland, Arizona, etc) Height Current weight Goal weight Date by which you'd like to lose weight (if you have a date in mind) Reason(s) for wanting to lose weight Anything else you'd like us to know (medical conditions, career, hobbies, etc)
I'd also like for each member, if he/she feels so inclined, to post once each week after weighing himself/herself, so that we can all see the progress being made and feel inspired!
Also, please feel free to post anything of interest: Recipes, weight loss tips, emotional responses to weight loss (or the unfortunate gain here and there!), and so forth. We are all here to support and care for each other, so please say whatever is on your mind.
